Help Change Lives — Become a Literacy Volunteer Tutor!

Literacy Volunteers provides several 18–hour tutor certification trainings each year for volunteers who would like to help adults or young adults to improve their literacy. It is estimated that as many as one in seven adults have low literacy skills, impacting their ability to find and maintain employment, help their children with school, or be informed, active citizens. Others still enrolled in high school struggle due to poor reading/comprehension skills, and may not stay in school without finding the help they need.

Many such adults have significantly improved their literacy and their lives with the support of a skilled and dedicated Literacy Volunteers tutor. All tutoring is provided at no cost, and is strictly confidential.
